The architectural concept of this holiday residence on the island of Karpathos draws on a contemporary interpretation of traditional Mediterranean architecture and the classical principles of rhythm and colonnades. The repetition of solid stone walls and open spaces establishes a restrained horizontal composition that responds naturally to the landscape, sun, and wind.

Organized on a single level around a central shaded courtyard, the house creates a continuous relationship between indoor and outdoor living. Pergolas, massive stone walls, and adaptable glazing provide protection from intense sunlight while allowing natural cross-ventilation. A swimming pool and open terraces extend the living spaces towards the Aegean Sea.

A restrained palette of natural stone, concrete, terrazzo, and timber reinforces the timeless character of the architecture and its connection to the local environment. The result is a residence where the boundaries between interior, exterior, and landscape gradually dissolve.
